$49.99 plus HST for a swap on rims, whatever you drive. $129.99 plus HST for a full mount and balance off rims, whatever you drive. The number depends on one thing more than any other: whether your winter set is already mounted on its own rims.

Read this before you come in.

On rims or off rims. Tires already on their own wheels are a quick swap. Loose tires with no rims have to be mounted and balanced, which is a bigger job. Not sure which you have? Call us.

Two things we can only find once we start.

Swollen lug nuts. On many cars the lug nuts have a thin metal cap that swells with rust and road salt, so a socket no longer fits. We have to break them off and fit new ones. That is extra labour plus new nuts.

Damaged wheel studs. Some studs are already stripped or worn when we take the wheels off. Putting a nut back on a damaged stud can snap it, or the nut will not thread on at all, and that stud has to be replaced. This is normal wear on older wheels from years of use and salt. It does not come from the tire change.

If we find either one, we stop, show you, and give you the price before we do any extra work.

Your winter set is already mounted on its own wheels. We unbolt four, bolt on four, torque every nut to the manufacturer spec and set the pressures.

We price match any competitor on any brand of tires. Bring us a written quote and we will match it. We would rather earn the fitting work than lose the customer over a few dollars on rubber.

We fit up to 22 inches. High performance and low profile tires are easy to damage during mounting if the shop does not have the right machine or does not slow down. We have both.

One thing we cannot cover: wheel lock keys. They wear out and they snap, sometimes on the first turn, and there is no way to tell before it happens. We cannot take responsibility for a key breaking, and we cannot source you a replacement. What we can do is extract the locking nuts from all four wheels and fit standard nuts or bolts instead, so the car still leaves on four secure wheels. That is extra labour plus the cost of the hardware, and you will hear the number before we start. If your lock key looks rounded or damaged, we will let you know before we start.

How our pricing works. Every price above is plus HST and covers a standard four-wheel job. Swollen lug nuts, damaged wheel studs and wheels that need extra weight to balance cost more. We stop and give you the exact number before doing that work. Nothing gets added to your bill without you agreeing to it first.

How much does a tire change cost in Brampton?

At Lube It, a tire change on rims is $49.99 plus HST for sedans, vans and SUVs, whatever the wheel size. Loose tires that need mounting and balancing are $129.99 for sedans, vans and SUVs. European vehicles are $79.99 on rims and $149.99 off rims for sedans, vans and SUVs. Tire patches start at $29.99, and a rotation or a balance is $39.99.

What is the difference between on rims and off rims?

On rims means your tires are already mounted on their own set of wheels, so we simply swap all four wheels over. Off rims means we have to break the old tire off the wheel, mount the new one and balance it, which takes far longer and uses different equipment.

Do I need an appointment for a tire change?

No. Drive in during opening hours and join the queue. A swap on rims typically takes about 15 minutes once you are in the bay. Expect a wait on the first cold weekend of the season.

What size wheels can you fit?

Up to 22 inches, including high performance and low profile tires.

Do you store my other set of tires?

No. We do not have the room, so you will need somewhere at home to keep the set we take off. Every tire change includes a free set of four tire bags, which keep them clean and stop them marking the car on the way home.

What happens if my wheel lock key breaks?

Wheel lock keys are a wear item and often snap with no warning. If yours goes, we extract the locking nuts from all four wheels and fit standard nuts in their place, so you drive away secure. That is extra labour plus hardware, quoted before we touch it. We cannot replace the key itself or cover one that breaks.
