An oil change is not a job anyone can put off forever. Lube It is built around that one fact: a short menu of services, a small team, and a car in and out in about fifteen minutes. We are opening the model to franchisees across Ontario.

Why this business

Quick lube is an unglamorous category, and that is most of the appeal.

A service people cannot skip

Every car on the road needs an oil change. It is not discretionary, it is not seasonal, and it does not go out of fashion. Cars have also become more complex, which pushes owners toward specialists rather than doing it on the driveway.

Fast transactions, no appointments

The whole model is built on speed. No appointment book to manage, no service advisors, no courtesy cars. A customer arrives, is served in about 15 minutes, and leaves.

Repeat business by design

An oil change is not a one-off purchase. Every customer has a reason to come back in a few months, and the reminder sticker on the windshield does the marketing.

More than oil

Tires, rustproofing, batteries, filters and fluids from the same bays and the same team, which lifts the average ticket without adding staff.

A short menu and a small team

There is no diagnostic bay, no parts counter carrying thousands of lines and no estimating. A handful of jobs, done over and over, by a team that can be trained on them properly.

The system comes with it

Pricing, the 15-point check, the supplier accounts, the signage and the website are already built and already tested. You are running a business rather than inventing one.

What you get

Territory

A defined protected area so you are not competing with the shop down the road.

Site selection

Help finding and assessing a location, and working through the lease.

Build-out specification

Equipment lists, bay layout, supplier contacts and the specification we use in our own shops.

Training

Full operational training covering the service workflow, safety checks, the point of sale and the daily routine.

Brand and marketing

The Lube It brand, signage, website presence and marketing materials, backed by the ad fund.

Ongoing support

Someone to call. Operational guidance, supplier pricing and continuing support once you are trading.

How it works

Eight steps, and one of them is a legal requirement designed to protect you.

01

Enquire

Call or email and tell us about yourself, your capital position and the area you are interested in.

02

Introductory conversation

We walk you through the model, the numbers and what running a shop actually looks like day to day.

03

Spend a day in a shop

Come and stand in a working Lube It through a busy stretch. See the job properly before you commit to it.

04

Disclosure

You receive our Franchise Disclosure Document. Ontario law requires you to have it at least 14 days before signing anything or paying anything.

05

Review it properly

Take the document to a franchise lawyer and an accountant. We would rather you did than did not.

06

Site and territory

We work through the area you want, what is available in it, and the kind of unit the model needs.

07

Sign and build

The agreement is signed, then build-out and equipment.

08

Train and open

Your team is trained on the bays and the checklist, and the doors open.

What we are looking for

An owner-operator, not an investor. The shops that work are the ones where the owner is on site. This is a business you run, not one you buy and visit.

Someone who wants to be told the truth. We will tell you what the work actually involves, including the parts that are hard. We would rather lose a candidate at the conversation stage than sign one who was sold a story.

Capital that is genuinely available. Build-out and equipment cost real money before the first customer arrives, and being underfunded at opening is the most common way a good site fails.

No automotive background required. We can teach the service. We cannot teach showing up.

Start with a conversation

No forms and no sales process. Call or email, tell us where you are looking, and we will tell you honestly whether it is a fit.

Important. This page is general information about the Lube It franchise opportunity. It is not an offer to sell a franchise. Any franchise is offered only through a Franchise Disclosure Document delivered in accordance with Ontario's Arthur Wishart Act (Franchise Disclosure), 2000, at least 14 days before any agreement is signed or any consideration is paid. Nothing on this page is a representation about earnings, revenue or profit.

Questions we get in the bay

What does a Lube It franchise cost?

There is an initial franchise fee plus the cost of building out and equipping the shop, and the total depends heavily on the site and whether the building needs work. Get in touch and we will walk you through the numbers for a location like the one you have in mind.

What are the ongoing fees?

A monthly royalty calculated as a percentage of gross sales, plus a contribution to the advertising fund. Exact figures are set out in the Franchise Disclosure Document.

Do I need automotive experience?

No. Most of our best operators came from outside the trade. What matters more is that you will be in the business day to day, you can manage people, and you care about how customers are treated.

Do I set my own prices?

Yes. Franchisees set their own retail pricing. We provide suggested pricing based on what works, but the decision is yours, and it has to be, because costs differ from market to market.

What territory do I get?

A defined protected area. The size depends on population density and traffic patterns in that market.

How long does it take to open?

It depends on the site. Finding and securing a location is usually the longest part; the build-out itself is faster.

What happens after I enquire?

We have a conversation, and if it looks like a fit on both sides we provide the Franchise Disclosure Document. Under Ontario's Arthur Wishart Act you must receive that at least 14 days before signing any agreement or paying any money.
