How much does a car battery cost in Brampton?

$199.99 to $339.99 plus HST for the battery, plus installation from $39.99. The number follows the group size your vehicle takes.

Why we say "from". Batteries are not one product. A small sedan takes a different group size than a pickup, and a car with engine stop-start needs an AGM battery, which costs meaningfully more than a standard one because it is built differently. Anyone advertising a single flat price for every vehicle is either quoting the cheapest fitment or planning to change the number when you arrive. We test your vehicle, tell you which battery it takes, and give you the exact price before we open a single tool.

Battery Replacement

A genuine Pro Series battery supplied, with the charging system checked before you leave. The price follows the group size your vehicle takes, which is stamped on the battery already in the car.

Group 51R carries 36 months free replacement. Group 48 and 94R carry 60 months.

Battery & Charging Test

We test the battery under load and check the alternator output, because a flat battery is often a symptom rather than the fault. If your alternator is not charging properly a new battery will die too, and you would be back in a fortnight.

  • Load test on the battery itself
  • Alternator output checked
  • Terminals and cables inspected
  • We tell you if you do not need a battery

Signs it is on the way out

A battery rarely dies without warning. These are the ones people ignore until it is minus twenty and the car will not start.

  • 01Slow, laboured cranking on start-up
  • 02Headlights dim at idle, brighten when you rev
  • 03Dashboard warning light for the charging system
  • 04Needed a boost in the last month
  • 05Corrosion crusted around the terminals
How our pricing works. Every price above is a starting price plus HST for the battery itself, and follows the group size your vehicle takes. Installation starts at $39.99 and depends on the vehicle and how awkward the battery is to reach. AGM batteries, larger truck fitments and vehicles where the battery is buried under bodywork or a seat cost more. We test first, tell you the exact price, and you decide. Nothing is added to your bill without you agreeing to it.

Questions we get in the bay

How much does a car battery cost in Brampton?

At Lube It, the battery itself runs from $199.99 to $339.99 plus HST. A Group 51R starts at $199.99, a Group 48 AGM at $309.99 and a Group 94R AGM at $339.99. Installation is charged separately and starts at $39.99, depending on the vehicle and how awkward the battery is to reach. The final price depends on the group size your vehicle takes and whether it needs an AGM battery for stop-start. We test and quote the exact price before starting.

Do you test batteries for free?

Yes. We load test the battery and check the alternator output at no charge, whether or not you buy a battery from us. A flat battery is often caused by a charging fault rather than the battery itself.

How long does a battery last?

Typically around four years, depending on driving habits, how many short trips you make and how cold the winters are.

Why do batteries always die on the first cold morning?

Two things happen at once. The oil thickens, so the engine needs more current to turn over, and the chemical reaction inside the battery slows down, so it delivers less. A battery that was quietly weak in October is the one that fails in January. That is why a free test in the autumn is worth the five minutes.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Drive in during opening hours. Most battery replacements are done while you wait.

Does the battery come with a warranty?

Yes. A Group 51R carries 36 months and a Group 48 or 94R carries 60 months, as free replacement rather than a prorated credit. The battery has to fail our test for a claim to go through, so a flat battery on its own is not enough, it has to be the battery at fault. Keep the invoice we give you, because that is the date a claim runs from.

Why is my battery more expensive than the advertised price?

Three reasons: your vehicle takes a larger group size, it needs an AGM battery for engine stop-start, or the battery sits somewhere awkward such as under a seat or behind bodywork. We tell you the exact number before we start.

My car will not start at home. Can you come to me?

No. We do not offer mobile callouts or roadside boosts, so the car needs to reach us under its own power. Get a boost from CAA, a neighbour or a booster pack, then drive straight here and leave the engine running until you are in the bay. If you switch it off with a dead battery you will not get it started again.

What happens to my old battery?

It goes for recycling through our supplier.
